Storm Ventures International (SVI) is the international vehicle arising from a series of corporate sales and exploration company spin outs of the Storm companies (TSE listed Storm Exploration, Storm Energy Inc., Storm Energy Ltd.) The management of SVI have worked together in four public Calgary based energy companies that have been through founding, growth and harvest stages successfully over the last 20 years. Prior to founding Silverstone, senior personnel from Lime Rock and SVI had worked on projects in various professional capacities. Matt Brister, SVI President is the chairman of the board and CEO of Silverstone.

Steve Horton, the Chief Operating Officer of Silverstone, a shareholder in his own right and management representative, is the third founder member of the board of Silverstone.

Rob Cook of Calgary based energy focused private equity firm ARC Financial Corporation joined the Silverstone board as non executive director upon completion of the private placement equity offering in May 2007. A number of other leading European and North American institutional investors became equity investors in the May 2007 offering which raised total proceeds of £47.5 million ($100 million Canadian).
